We are delighted to announce that Broomwood has been reviewed in the prestigious Tatler Schools Guide 2026. The guide is renowned for spotlighting the very best schools across the country, and we are proud that Tatler has recognised the unique character, strength and spirit of our community.
The review highlights the school’s warm, welcoming ethos, breadth of opportunity and outstanding pastoral care – with special praise for our music, drama and academic structure.
Here’s what Tatler had to say:
BROOMWOOD

Heads Michael Hodge (principal and boys), Louisa McCafferty (girls), Caron Mackay (pre-prep)
Pupils 569 day: 294 boys, 275 girls
Ages 3–13
Kudos from one parent for the caring approach of ‘warm, friendly, welcoming’ principal Michael Hodge. They add that Broomwood is ‘not your typical London prep in many ways’, and you can tell that from its structure: the school is spread across four locations within walking distance of each other; and children can start at the pre-school and then pre-prep, where both genders learn together until Year 3.
Music is encouraged – more than 70 per cent learn an instrument – and the orchestra is extremely popular. Drama is also vibrant, and there is a strong track record of thespians securing scholarships to senior schools. As for pastoral care, it’s top-notch and pupil-led.
We are grateful to Tatler for recognising Broomwood’s distinctive approach and the achievements of our pupils. Above all, we are proud of our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and wonderful children who make our school such a thriving and joyful place to learn.
