A Welcome From The Acting Head
We hope you will visit our school to see for yourselves the broad education we provide from academic excellence to a mind-boggling array of sports, music and creative arts. More importantly, you will find a vibrancy and happiness at Broomwood Boys that permeates the place; Happy boys will enjoy school and do well – and that is what we offer here, in spades.
We combine the very best in modern education within a traditional setting and moral framework to ensure that we educate the ‘whole boy’. We recognise that boys and girls develop emotionally and academically at different rates which is why lessons are taught in a single sex school environment. Beyond the classroom, we collaborate with the Broomwood Prep – Girls for a variety of extension activities, sporting event, trips and workshops.
We place great value on manners and respect for others. It is these softer, but essential skills that will equip a child for life beyond his senior school into a future workplace where collaboration, creativity and innate self-confidence will matter more than ever. Above all, as with all our school sites, we aim to inspire and equip boys’ to ‘BeYourBEST’.
Most boys leave us at 13 although some boys leave (and join) at 11 too. Boys regularly win places and scholarships in all subjects to the country’s leading public schools – both day and boarding. Above all, we will work with parents to ensure that a boy goes to the school that is right for him.
With 250 boys and no plans to get any bigger, we are small enough for everyone to know each other well and large enough to field teams that hold their own against much bigger schools. Sport is a large part of life here, and we are lucky to have the green expanse of Wandsworth common just across the road. With a long but rewarding school day we offer boys plenty of extra-curricular opportunities and the benefit of doing all homework at school so that at 6.00pm a boy can go home and relax, knowing his day’s work is done.
