A Full Education From 3 – 13

We are delighted that you are considering Broomwood for your child’s education. It is a really special place, and we are very happy to answer any questions you may have. We aim to make the admissions process as smooth as possible. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

Your child may join us at ‘Little Broomwood’, our pre-school year, which is designed for children aged 3-4. If you prefer, we also have a large intake at Reception (aged 4-5). We educate boys and girls together (from Little Broomwood until Year 2) after which, they automatically join our single sex prep schools. This enables all our pupils to develop confidently, at their own pace. Beyond the classroom, boys and girls come together at all ages, for a wealth of learning, sporting, and social activities.

Entry Points

Our official entrance points are 3+, 4+, 7+ and 11+. However, please note that we welcome applications at other times too, but these are subject to availability.

Little Broomwood, Pre-School (Age 3-4)

Register and Visit by the September after the child’s first birthday. Places are awarded on a first come, first served basis.
Offers made in October.

Reception (Age 4-5)

Each form has a maximum of 20 children and a designated form teacher and classroom assistant.

Places are awarded on a first come, first served basis.
We offer priority entrance to the following groups:

Children attending Little Broomwood and Siblings of existing children at Broomwood
Children of Broomwood alumni
Children from nurseries that are part of the Dukes family

A Waiting List is activated for children not selected.

Prep – Boys and Prep – Girls (age 7-9 – Years 3 & 4)

Entry to Broomwood Boys or Broomwood Girls is automatic for children moving up from Broomwood Pre-Prep. Every year we welcome new children into the school at this point and we are always delighted to talk to you to about your child’s situation and to answer any queries. External places are subject to a Taster Morning and a reference from current school. This is an opportunity to ensure we are the right fit for your cild and for them to enjoy meeting new friends and experiencing something of the Broomwood approach. Prep – Boys or Prep – Girls (age 9-13 – Years 5 – 8)

We have more places available for the final two years (Years 8 & 9) at Broomwood during which we prepare children for entrance to a wide range of senior options, including co-ed, single-sex, day and boarding schools.

Places are subject to attending a Taster & Assessment Day, the main one being in January of the year of entry, as well as seeking a reference from the current school.
