BROOMWOOD is a group of exceptional pre-prep and prep schools offering boys and girls an extraordinary education; a bespoke, dynamic and rich journey where they can develop their own passions and talents as well as being stretched in new directions, so they become the best version of themselves.
Because we Believe in every child, helping them develop their unique passions and talents; because our forward-looking culture encourages pupils to Embrace change; because we strive to ensure every individual Succeeds in a culture of collaboration and Togetherness – our promise will be to inspire and equip every Broomwood pupil to #BeYourBEST
Working together as one school under one Principal, but with separate sites under collaborative Heads, we ensure that our pupils receive the very best of all worlds: a joyful co-educational start to schooling at the age of 3 or 4 in a bespoke, specialist Early Years centre, followed by a seamless and easy transition to single-sex, collaborative Prep schools at the age of 7 before leaving at the age of 11 or 13 to some of the very best and most demanding schools in the country.
Our three school sites offer children a unique model of collaborative single-sex and co-educational education that has real benefits for both boys and girls by giving them the opportunity to immerse themselves in their own school and experience everything that a tailored, single-sex learning environment can offer, as well as enjoying opportunities to work alongside their peers in a co-educational setting. Our collaborative model ensures that girls and boys have the chance to share facilities, trips, some sports, and activities whilst ensuring that there are no limits to what they can do or try within their own single-sex setting.
Above all, we know that our children will leave us as happy, rounded individuals who are the BEST version of themselves.
We would love the opportunity to discuss your child’s potential future journey at BROOMWOOD.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Please take time to view our video to get a glimpse into BROOMWOOD.
We’d love to tell you more about what makes us special. If you’d like to come and see us, please register for one of our Friday showarounds or Open Mornings – or contact Admissions for other opportunities to come and see us.
No matter at what age you join us, or at which site, our curriculum has been designed to provide children with a thorough mastery of the fundamental building blocks of education, delivered in a way that is inclusive, enjoyable and, above all, harnesses a child’s natural curiosity and desire to learn. We take pride in knowing that our children look forward to coming to school.
In the prep schools, children are encouraged to stretch themselves academically with a rich and fulfilling curriculum and multiple enrichment opportunities. Despite being non selective, we take pride in the number of academic scholarships our children achieve and the many offers they receive. In 2022 every pupil who took exams at 11+ – whether it was for exit at 11 or 13 – was offered one of their top choice schools and our pupils were awarded 31 scholarships in 2022.
As an inspector at one of our recent ISI inspections said…’The overall achievement of pupils is excellent and represents successful fulfilment of the school’s aim to provide an enjoyable, inspiring and well-rounded education’ (ISI Inspection May 22)
Children can join us at any age if there is a place available and subject to them meeting admissions criteria, but the main entry points are:
Pre-Prep School (Little Broomwood pre-school) 3+
Pre-Prep School 4+
Prep Schools 7+
Prep Schools 11+
We pride ourselves on our warm and friendly environment. Each of our sites is a community where children are well known by all staff. We believe that it is only if children are happy, they will give their best and achieve all of which they are capable. Our staff are chosen as much for their personal qualities as for their teaching ability. By offering gentle but firm guidance they are responsible for helping children to mature and develop into their BEST selves.
All children have the opportunity to join some of the multiple clubs on offer each week which change each term. Recent clubs have included karate, chess, flamenco, computers, cricket, golf, ballet, dance, jewellery, art and cookery. Each year group goes on at least one excursion every year with one compulsory residential. Destinations range from Holly Lodge to Syon Park; Horniman Museum; Chaulkney Meadows; the Museum of Childhood; the Imperial War Museum or further afield to the battlefields in France, climbing in Snowdonia or other outward bound activities in other parts of the UK.
