Broomwood, Clapham, is celebrating after being shortlisted in five categories at the Education Choices Magazine Awards 2026.
The school has been shortlisted for awards recognising its work in Supporting Sustainability, Enveloping EDIB in the Curriculum, Improvements in EDIB, Developing School Partnerships and Developing Student Voice.
Speaking about the news, Michael Hodge, Principal of Broomwood, said:
‘We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted in five categories at the Education Choices Magazine Awards. These nominations reflect the tremendous dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils and the strength of our wider school community.
‘At Broomwood, we want every child to feel that they belong, to be ambitious in their aspirations and to leave us with the confidence, character and values to make a positive difference in the world. These categories recognise many of the qualities that sit at the heart of a Broomwood education and are a wonderful reflection of the commitment shown by our pupils, staff and families every day.’
The recognition comes at an exciting time for Broomwood, following a remarkable year of achievement for the school community. Earlier this year, pupils in Year 6 and Year 8 secured a record-breaking 47 scholarships to leading senior and boarding schools across the country, with nearly half awarded for academic excellence.
Broomwood was also recently named Best Independent Preparatory School in London 2026 at the Private Education Awards and earned a place in Talk Education’s Top 250 Schools in the UK, further cementing its position among the nation’s most highly regarded independent schools.
Louisa McCafferty, Head of Broomwood Prep Girls, added:
‘This is wonderful news for the entire Broomwood community and comes at a particularly exciting time for the school. Following our record-breaking scholarship success, recognition in Talk Education’s Top 250 Schools and being named Best Independent Preparatory School in London 2026, these latest nominations provide further endorsement of the breadth and quality of the education we provide.
‘What makes these nominations especially meaningful is that they recognise the values and experiences that sit at the heart of daily life at Broomwood. From empowering pupil voice and fostering meaningful partnerships to championing sustainability and inclusion, we are committed to helping every child flourish, both academically and personally. We are incredibly proud of our pupils and staff, whose enthusiasm and dedication have made this recognition possible.’
The Education Choices Magazine Awards celebrate excellence and innovation across the education sector, recognising schools that are making a meaningful impact in the lives of young people and their communities.
With winners set to be announced later this month, Broomwood is proud to be recognised among the leading schools driving positive change across independent education.
