An independent private school with four connected sites across South West London, since 1984 we have instilled the BeYourBEST mindset in families across Clapham, Balham, and Wandsworth and helped them achieve greatness.
Our four campuses: Little Broomwoods, Broomwoods Pre-Prep, Broomwood Prep Girls and Broomwood Prep Boys sit within easy reach of Wandsworth Common, so however you’re travelling, your child is never far from green space, sports pitches and a genuinely local school community in leafy South London.
Book an Open Morning
Join our next Open Morning on Friday 2 October 2026, from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm, to explore our sites in person, or contact our Admissions team to arrange a bespoke tour.
Broomwood’s four school sites sit within a short walk of one another, nestled snugly between Wandsworth Common and Clapham Common in South London (postcodes SW11 and SW12).
Our nursery, Little Broomwood, and Pre-Prep are based on Ramsden Road and Nightingale Lane in Balham; Broomwood Prep – Girls is a short walk away on Nightingale Lane, and Broomwood Prep – Boys sits on Bolingbroke Grove, bordering Clapham and Wandsworth.
This location has served our pupils’ school life and us greatly, as both Clapham and the surrounding South London area are extremely popular amongst parents, with Clapham High Street just to the north-west and the cultural centre of Brixton just to the West.
Families wishing to enrol their children at Broomwood tend to travel from across South West London, and our sites are easily reached on foot, by bike, by our bespoke bus service, or via public transport from Clapham Junction, Clapham South, Balham, and Wandsworth Common stations.
Serving Families Across South West London
Families choose Broomwood from right across South West London, drawn by our combination of academic excellence, pastoral care and genuinely local, walkable campuses. We regularly welcome pupils from:
Clapham, including Clapham Common and Clapham South
Balham, along Nightingale Lane and around Balham High Road
Wandsworth, including Wandsworth Common and Wandsworth Town
Battersea, particularly around Northcote Road and Battersea Rise
Tooting, including Tooting Bec and Tooting Common
Putney
Wherever you’re travelling from, our Admissions team is happy to talk through school run options, including our bus service on some routes.

Sustainability and healthy living are our core values at Broomwood. That’s why, when possible, we encourage all families to try and walk, scoot or cycle to school each morning. Younger pupils can even earn a Golden Lock as a reward for regular cycling, and rest assured, we have suitable secure storage facilities for all equipment.
Unfortunately, parking is very limited around all four of our sites, so if you must drive, please be considerate during drop-off and pick-up. Have you heard of our bus service? We currently offer six routes:
Fulham
Streatham/Tooting
Wandsworth/Putney
Wimbledon/Earlsfield
Belgravia
Pimlico/Battersea
All buses serve both Pre-Prep and Prep sites and cover morning pick-up and afternoon return. We also offer a free internal sibling loop bus and flexible, ad hoc bus bookings to support busy family and work schedules.
Broomwood welcomes families from across South West London, particularly Clapham, Balham, Wandsworth, Battersea, Fulham, Tooting, Putney and Chelsea. All four of our sites sit close together around Wandsworth Common, making us a genuinely local choice for families across these neighbourhoods.
Is Broomwood easy to reach by public transport?
Yes. Our Nightingale Lane sites are close to Clapham South and Balham Underground stations (Northern line), while Broomwood Prep – Boys on Bolingbroke Grove is a short walk from Wandsworth Common station and within easy reach of Clapham Junction. Several bus routes also serve the area, and Broomwood runs its own school bus on selected routes.
Is parking available when visiting the school?
Parking varies by site and by event. Please contact the relevant school office ahead of your visit or Open Morning, and our Admissions team will confirm the best travel and parking options for your appointment.
How far is Broomwood from Clapham Common?
Our sites are all within a short walk of Wandsworth Common and about a 15- to 20-minute walk from Clapham Common, with Clapham South Underground station providing a quick, direct link between the two.
