Year 7 pupils enjoyed an inspiring visit to Shakespeare’s Globe on Thursday 5 November, exploring the theatre and taking part in a drama workshop based on Henry V.
The visit began with a quick snack and a windswept walk across the Millennium Bridge, giving pupils the chance to get their bearings before entering the Globe itself.
A guided tour introduced the group to the theatre’s distinctive performance space, offering a new perspective on how Shakespeare’s plays are brought to the stage.
Pupils then took part in a brilliant workshop led by a movement and choreography director from the Globe. Working with Henry V, they explored the play through drama, discovering how movement and performance can help bring its language and characters to life.
The visit was a valuable opportunity to experience Shakespeare beyond the page and learn directly from a theatre professional. Combining English and drama in such a memorable setting gave pupils plenty of inspiration to take back to the classroom.
Thank you to the team at Shakespeare’s Globe for a wonderful visit.
