Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2024 winner LuxLife Private Education Awards 2026: Best Independent Preparatory School – London

Broomwood is delighted to reveal that it has been named among London’s best prep schools in the Tatler Schools Guide 2027.

The review highlights Broomwood’s ‘distinctive approach to education’, recognising the combination of shared learning in the early years and a model from Year 3 that combines single-sex teaching with regular opportunities for boys and girls to come together. Through co-educational days, shared trips and visits, pupils learn alongside one another, build friendships and enjoy shared experiences as part of one Broomwood community.

Tatler also draws attention to investment in facilities across the school, noting the “Astroturf pitches, libraries, adventure playgrounds and drama halls” that give pupils space to explore their interests, develop their talents and embrace new challenges.

Alongside these opportunities, the review recognises the practical benefits for families of Broomwood’s school day. With homework and activities taking place at school, children can return home ready to relax and enjoy time with their families.

The inclusion follows an exceptional year of achievement at Broomwood. Pupils secured a record-breaking 49 scholarships to leading senior schools, spanning academics, sport, music, drama and art, with nearly half awarded for academic excellence.

Broomwood was also named Best Independent Preparatory School in London at the Private Education Awards 2026 for the second consecutive year and included in Talk Education’s Top 250.

Speaking about the news, Michael Hodge, Principal of Broomwood, said: ‘We are delighted to see Broomwood included in the Tatler Schools Guide 2027. It is particularly pleasing to see the review recognise both the opportunities we provide for children and the thought that goes into supporting family life.

‘Our ambition is for every child to feel known, encouraged and challenged. Whether in the classroom, on the sports pitch or on stage, we want our pupils to discover what excites them, develop confidence in their abilities and enjoy their childhood.’

From nursery to age 13, Broomwood combines strong academic foundations with a broad, nurturing education that helps children grow in confidence, curiosity and independence.
